Zelda 64 World

Note that this Walkthrough covers the original Ocarina of Time. If you are looking for any walkthrough coverage of the Master Quest, then look on the Master Quest page. (Although there isn't much there yet.)
---
First, turn on your N64 or GameCube with Zelda in it (Duh). Select your file or make a new one with a beautiful name of your choice (Duh).

Watch the opening sequence of Navi the fairy entering your house ("Can Hyrule's destiny really depend on such a lazy boy?"). Leave your house, and talk to Saria. Then you must search for Rupees. Hop the stones near the shop. Look behind Mido's house. Go into Mido's house and steal his rupees. Throw stones. When you have 40 Rupees, go into the Kokiri Shop. Buy a Deku Shield for 40 Rupees. Then exit the shop. Go down the path until you find a hill. Go up the hill and into the fenced in area. Go to the end of the area where there will be the "Hole of Z" or "Hole of L". Read the sign and then enter the hole as the sign tells you to. Navigate the (easy) maze until you find a treasure chest. (Hint: Stay left, and watch for rolling rocks.) Open the chest to get the Kokiri Sword. (This is a hidden treasure of the Kokiri, but you can borrow it for awhile.) If you haven't already, press Start and flip to the Equipment Subscreen. Equip both items by selecting them and pressing A.When you have everything equipped, go to the Shop (but don't go in!) With your back to the shop, go left to an opening which Mido is blocking. Talk to Mido (make sure your stuff is equipped!) and he will let you through (although I don't think he really wants to). Follow the passageway (killing the Deku Babas) and then you will talk to the Deku Tree. When he asks you if you have enough courage to go inside him, say yes. He will open his mouth and let you in. (Make sure that you equip any items on the Select Item Subscreen to Y, Z, or X (or C <,>, or ^), you'll need them later.
